Gareth Cook CMIOSH - Health and Safety Consultant
Gareth is a chartered health and safety practitioner with over 7 years’ experience in Health and Safety. Safety Performance Coach, HSSE Manager and Consultancy roles for major Principal contractors and small specialist companies across varied sectors nationally and internationally, has allowed Gareth to develop a wealth of knowledge and confidence with regards to legislation and the practical application. Sector experience includes construction, civil engineering, oil & gas, security, education, maritime, manufacturing, engineering, logistics, heavy plant and major events.
Gareth has successfully led and managed a team of qualified safety, training and security professionals across a range of complex and challenging projects. An example of Gareth’s achievements includes: delivery of Health and Safety courses and leading on major accident investigations and reports to prevent reoccurrence, development of several companies OHSAS 18001 compliant management systems, auditing major principal contractors against standards 18001 & 14001, creating buy in from senior management teams to develop and deliver sequential bespoke ‘Zero Harm Plans’ and ‘Safety Risk Matrices’ for all operations and increasing a multinational construction companies near miss reporting by 600% through safety culture development, allowed targeted action plans to be developed which resulted in positive change to the accident frequency rate.
Previous experience has seen Gareth in Risk, crisis and private security management. This followed a rewarding, exciting and challenging military career where 3 military medals were awarded.
Gary Dowson - QCVS
Gary completed 23 years of exemplary service in the British Army. 12 years within an Infantry regiment and 11 years of service within UK Special Forces as a member of the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR). Gary completed his full service achieving the rank of Warrant Officer Class One and was awarded the Queens Commendation for Valuable Service for his operational work.
Gary’s specialisations include planning, controlling and conducting covert surveillance and reconnaissance operations, producing, initiating and managing risk assessments. He is also an experienced security manager. Since leaving the Army 10 years ago he has taught on foreign government defence contracts, planned and conducted surveillance operations on behalf of high net worth clients and consulted on commercial security requirements in East Africa in the wake of the terrorist atrocities in that area.
John Hogan - Overseas Country Manager
John served 25 years in the British Army, attaining the rank of Warrant Officer II in the Royal Corps of Signals. During his time with the corps he served with a wide variety of units including tours; as a Sergeant Major with the Army Apprentice College in Arborfield, the Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant of the Special Forces Signals Squadron and as a Troop Sergeant in Northern Ireland.
Since leaving the military John has worked in the fields of; security management, telecommunications and operational support. His work in these fields has included deployments to an extremely varied range of countries including; Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Bangladesh, India, Tunisia and Libya.
Whilst deployed to Libya in 2011, he was instrumental in evacuating in excess of 200 expatriates during the initial stages of the revolution. In 2013 he deployed to Bangladesh, where he assisted with coordinating the response to the aftermath of the Rana Plaza building collapse.
Since returning to the UK in November 2014, John has undertaken taskings in; North Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the UK.
